Welcome to the Fuji School of Self-Defence & Unarmed Combat

In our dojo, you will train and practice in the broad Japanese Martial Art of Jujutsu. This art encompasses the more renowned arts of Karate-Jutsu, Aiki-Jujutsu, Goshin-do and Ju-do. It is through this art that you will gain a better understanding of yourself and your own limitations.

Personal Development

Our personal development training is for those individuals wanting to better themselves through the regular training and teachings of both traditional and modern martial arts study. Your individual development, confidence, practical skills and potential are only limited by your own efforts in training.

The techniques taught in class are also highly beneficial as a means of self protection, maintaining personal fitness, building character, and relieving stress. We train in armed and unarmed combat, utilising striking, strangling, standing and grappling techniques.

This school has a comprehensive syllabus that continues to change and develop as students and Instructors alike refine their skills and personal experiences.

Experience

Instructors at the Crichton Cobbers Youth club dojo have extensive experience as Instructors/Trainers in Operational theatres abroad and Professional Law Enforcement positions both here and overseas. We combine the best of the old, with the cutting edge of the new.

If it works - then use it. Please feel free to look around our web site and learn more about the Fuji Ryu Goshindo system, its Instructors, and what it has to offer you.

Defensive Tactics / Law Enforcement Training

We are also able to offer full defensive tactics training to suitable candidates wanting to join the New Zealand Police Service. We encourage all members of the Law Enforcement community to experience our training methodology.

Qualifications / Certification

Our training programmes and teaching methodology are based on “international best practice”, with certification on offer, through us, from other internationally reputable organisations. We are the NZ co-ordinators for the United Kingdom Jujitsu Association International and the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai Japan.

We hope you find this website informative and we look forward to seeing you on the mat in the near future.
